Our Philosophy

Our Point of View

We believe that a disciplined and balanced investment approach is the best way to achieve and maintain financial security. As a Ph.D. and a former Stanford University Consulting Professor, Austin Lemoine understands quantitative methods and their application to the world of investing. But with years of experience finding scientific solutions to real-world problems, he recognizes the pitfalls of relying too much on packaged investment programs, "financial engineering" models, or pet theories — such as the efficient market hypothesis and modern portfolio theory.

Investment Counsel and Asset Management

Wealth accumulation is not just about making money, it is about keeping it. No strategy works best for every investor in every market situation. No strategy works well for an unlimited period of time.

We work with clients as an advisor sensitive to their needs and objectives — reviewing their financial situations and tolerances for risk, and developing personalized investment strategies aimed at achieving their goals. We help to select appropriate investments and to monitor and manage them prudently.

Client Service

We work to provide exceptional investment advice and to be readily accessible to answer client questions. Reports on portfolio performance are timely and objective. We pledge to protect confidential client information.

Though past performance is no guarantee of future results, we do everything we can to understand the client's financial situation and ensure that their money is wisely and profitably invested. Client assets under management are domiciled at the firm of Charles Schwab & Company, Inc.

No Conflicts of Interest

Austin Lemoine Capital Management is a fee-only investment advisor, free from conflicts of interest. The interests of the client always come first. We do not sell financial or insurance products. We are not paid commissions. We do not have to trade in client accounts to generate income.

The investment advice we provide is unbiased and independent of influences or compensations or relationships with brokerage firms, insurance companies or mutual fund companies. Our fully disclosed fees are based on a percentage of the assets under management, so we are aligned with client interests. We are compensated more only when the value of a portfolio grows.
